She graduated from the College of Wooster majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a minor in Religious Studies. She attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While there, she focused strongly on small animal surgery and was honored with the Excellence in Small Animal Surgery award. Her current interests are still in surgery, specifically orthopedics and minimally invasive laparoscopic techniques, and ultrasonography. She and her husband Chris recently expanded their family with a beautiful daughter named Isabella. In their free time, they love to travel, sail on Lake Erie, SCUBA dive, and she is training to compete with the Natural Muscle Association Bikini division. The family currently lives in Bainbridge with their Siamese cats Piper, Tater Tot, and Rigatoni, and Bull Terrier Ryelee!
